| I am delighted to know that St. Luke's Grimethorpe is taking this most important initiative in proposing the re-ordering of St. Luke's parish Church. Here is a proposal which demonstrates very clearly the way in which the Church seeks to serve in the best and widest possible way the needs and opportunities of the local neighbourhood and community. I hope and pray everyone will support this venture as generously as they are able. |

The Parish Church of St. Luke realizes it has a role to play in regeneration and fostering community initiatives.
The re-development of St. Luke's, whilst obviously retaining its place as the parish church, will nevertheless provide facilities and opportunities lost to the community.
The project, driven by local people also embraces business entrepreneurs whose future both personally and professionally lies in the regeneration of the region.
We now need to reach out and harness the expertise and resources of those people motivated by desire to secure the futures of the next generations of the community. It needs funding, it needs a wide range of services and above all it needs your support for the youth of tomorrow.
The Trust will provide Community Outreach to meet some of the needs of the community on childcare, family counselling, vocational training and assist people to obtain employment from various companies supporting the Trust.
This work will be properly co-ordinated with the local Community Partnership, Area Forum and the Regeneration Office.
St Luke's Grimethorpe Fund was registered as a "Trust" to handle funds obtained for the purpose of providing:
A Village Hall for the use of the village and the neighbouring areas. There will be space for disabled people to meet in a safe secure atmosphere with all the appropriate facilities. The Hall will cater for wedding receptions, baptism celebrations, funeral teas, meetings for the over 60's and other social activities centered on the development of the youth. It will take time, effort and imagination but we owe it to the future generations. Let us work together to achieve a testament for good people and benefit for those who follow us.
